Physical Education Program

The Washington Manor Physical Education Program's purpose and focus is to develop and promote good health, advanced motor skills, improved self-confidence and increased levels of fitness in all students through the implementation of a high-quality, standards-aligned program.

    Expectations:
  • To show respect
  • To wear proper clothing for the prescribed activity, facility and weather
  • To place backpack in the proper area and to not handle the property of others
  • To follow directions and do your personal best
  • To complete all work and class responsibilities
  • To take care of restroom needs before class
  • To respect facilities and equipment

Students do not change clothing for PE, and there are no lockers provided at WMMS. You need to wear clothes and shoes that are suitable for sports activities everyday. It is recommended students carry a change of shoes in their backpacks. Students' grades are based on participation, and clothing will not be an excuse for non-participation. All students must participate in all activities unless a doctor or parent note is provided. If a student cannot participate for more than three days, a doctor's note is required. If a student is absent, they must provide make-up work to maintain their grade. Arrangements for make-up work must be made with the student's PE teacher immediately upon the student's return. Contact your child's teacher with any questions.

Homework Club

Homework Club meets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:20-4:20 for the subject areas of Language Arts and Math. Homework club is open to the entire school population and is staffed by faculty members in their subject areas.
